The completion of an environmental cleanup or review is usually a closure document from the State agency certifying that Troy Risk’s work to address environmental impact has been completed successfully. The document certifies to a buyer, lender or investor what, if any, environmental liability exists. The closure document also indicates to neighbors and municipalities that risk to health or the environment has been mitigated.
The type of closure document issued by the regulatory agency depends on the type of property, and regulatory oversight program that reviews the environmental work. In Indiana, The Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) issues closure documents that include: Site Status Letters, No Further Action Letters, Comfort Letters, Certificates of Completion and Covenants-not-to-Sue.
Over the past three years, Troy Risk has obtained numerous Letters or Certificates of Completion for our clients from IDEM or The Indiana Finance Authority.
